This Guide is a production of Michael Sullivan & Associates. Sullivan On Comp is a comprehensive sixteen volume treatise which describes in depth all aspects of California workers' compensation law. It is a legal reference manual, used by many thousands of judges, lawyers, claimspeople, and others who practice daily in the workers' compensation system. It hosts a website which includes not just the always-updated text, but also scores of web based education materials and tools. It claims with some basis to be the definitive and most ubiquitous reference tool of California workers' compensation practitioners. It is written from a purely neutral perspective, contemplating all issues and advising as to what opposing sides might argue in the grey areas.

Michael Sullivan is the primary author of Sullivan On Comp, and is also the General Managing Partner of Michael Sullivan & Associates. As such he wears different "hats" depending on which role he is playing in a given scenario. Defense attorney or objective legal author? The roles can be difficult to clearly differentiate. One important part is being completely clear about the perspective being adopted at the beginning of any encounter involving public comment.
